England star Hannah Martin has a famous hockey-playing brother. If you’ve read or seen any interviews with her since she made her international debut you’re probably very aware of that fact already. Unquestionably brother Harry’s achievements are extremely impressive but now with her selection for a second consecutive tournament confirmed it’s time to talk about the 22-year-old and her achievements in their own right. David Ames: No More Mr Nice Guy
It’s hard not to like England international David Ames when you meet him. A polite, humble man with an unassuming demeanour; you could be forgiven for thinking his Mr Nice Guy personality does not lend itself to the rigours of international sport.

Eurohockey Championships, Men’s Final: Germany 3-1 Belgium.
Germany showed once again why they are the world’s number one team with a classic smash and grab to defeat Belgium 3-1 and win their eighth Eurohockey Championships.
Goals from Martin Zwicker, Benjamin Wess and Oliver Korn were enough to cancel out Tom Boon’s controversial opener, leaving the home crowd disappointed and ensuring both men’s and women’s titles went to Germany. Continue reading
Eurohockey Championships, Men’s Bronze Medal Match: England 2-3 Netherlands.
A hat-trick for Jeroen Hertzberger gave The Netherlands a bronze medal, securing a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bobby Crutchley’s England side.
The Rotterdam forward struck two penalty corners and a third from open play with Iain Lewers and Richard Smith striking for England who have to content themselves with fourth place. Continue reading
