NOW: Pensions Men’s Premier League Team of the Season: Goalkeepers.

With the championship playoffs just around the corner the teams competing in the final four will be busy preparing themselves for the biggest games of the season so far. As well as looking forward to the spectacle of the top players battling it out for the trophy I always enjoy finding out who will scoop the prestigious Player of the Year Awards and who will make it into the team of the season. I thought that this year, it might be fun to put together my own team of the season, voted for by the readers of The Top of the D.

Investec Women’s Premier League Week 18 Preview.

With just this round of games left to go in the regular season the two relegation spots are already confirmed as Olton and West Warwicks have slipped through the trapdoor whilst Sutton Coldfield face the pressures of the relegation playoffs. The four contenders for the Championship playoffs have also been cemented with Canterbury, Reading, Surbiton and Clifton securing the top four places.

NOW: Pensions Men’s Premier League: East Grinstead 4-3 Reading.

East Grinstead maintained their place at the top of the table going into the last game of the season with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Reading at Saint Hill today. As they had in the first game between the two sides earlier on in the season, The Sussex side marched into a 3-0 lead only to be pegged back by a strong second half display from Reading. On this occasion, however, the Sonning Lane side were unable to pull off the come back and went home empty handed. Continue reading

Investec Women’s Premier League Week 17 Preview.

Canterbury, Reading and Surbiton are now all certain of their places in the end of season championship playoffs but who will join them in the much coveted fourth spot is still firmly in the balance. With matters at the bottom of the table more or less sewn up, the race for fourth as well as the scrap for top spot and a place in Europe next season are the two burning issues still to be resolved in the Investec Women’s Premier League.
