The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has issued a statement surrounding the 2020-21 Hockey Stars Awards after receiving widespread criticism upon announcing the winners. 

England Hockey have today announced the appointment of David Ralph as Head Coach of the Great Britain and England women’s international hockey teams, replacing Mark Hager, who resigned after the Tokyo Olympics.

Great Britain gained revenge for yesterday’s narrow defeat by Germany in the FIH Pro League, picking up a 2-0 win in the return contest on Thursday evening. 

Goals from Anna Toman and Susannah Townsend ensured Mark Hager’s team registered their third win of their Pro League campaign. 

Great Britain made it two wins in two days against Germany as they ran out 3-1 winners in their FIH Pro League match at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. 

Having won 5-3 in yesterday’s match, today’s game was a slightly less explosive encounter but the points went to the hosts once more to move them up the Pro League table to sixth. 

Charlotte Stapenhorst’s late goal earned Germany a 3-2 win in their FIH Pro League match with Great Britain. 

The Germany no12 deceived Maddie Hinch with a bouncing shot three minutes from full time to nudge the visitors in front and condemn Great Britain to defeat.
