And so at 3pm on the 27^th of June, the 16 athletes whom Great Britain Coach Jason Lee feels will bring home the gold medal were finally announced to the world. After 3 years of
working together in the central programme, whittling the whole squad of 27 athletes down to 16 plus two reserves was always going to prove difficult. It is a selection with a wealth of experience and one that contains no Scottish or Welsh players. Continue reading →

If they did, Abigail Walker would be a perfect candidate to be one: When the Canterbury and Great Britain goalkeeper isn’t keeping out shots from the best in the world, she’s saving lives in her day job as a surgeon. Investec London Cup: 5th/6th Playoff: Great Britain 3-0 Ireland.

Two goals from Hannah Macleod and a first international goal for Emily Maguire gave Great Britain a comfortable win over Ireland in the Investec London Cup today.

Roared on by a fervent home crowd, Great Britain finally put the finishing touches to their play, something they had struggled with in the early part of the week. Continue reading →
