Iain Lewers calls it a day.

On Sunday 31 March 2019 Iain Lewers announced his retirement from hockey.

Well, he didn’t, his fiancée Georgie Twigg took to Twitter to do so on his behalf. In a way, that’s quite apt. Lewers, despite his undoubted class as a player, despite his steely will to win and desire to be the best, has never been one to covet the spotlight. Pearne-Webb to lead Great Britain in opening Pro League matches

Olympic gold medallist Hollie Pearne-Webb will captain Great Britain in their opening three FIH Pro League games. The defender, who is the most capped player in the 20-strong squad named on Wednesday, took the armband during the Champions Trophy and will continue to lead the team in Alex Danson’s absence through injury.  Continue reading
