The Top of the D’s Quickfire Questions: Rob Moore.

It is often drawn to my attention through the magic of social media that some hockey players have an appeal outside of their 3D skills or their eye for goal. It appears some players are deemed to be “easy on the eye”, too. When pressed as to who the best looking team in World Hockey were, Australian International Georgie Parker highlighted the aesthetic appeal of one of Great Britain’s finest: Surbiton’s Rob Moore. So, to keep a large contingent of my readers, and Miss Parker happy, here’s what I found out when I subjected housewives’ favourite Mr. Moore to The Top of the D’s quickfire questions.

Moore Profile PicThe Top of the D: What is your biggest achievement?

Rob Moore: In hockey terms, it’s a toss up between winning a European gold in 2009 and playing in a home Olympics. In general terms it’s having my kids.

TTOTD: What is your prized possession?

RM: Can I say my kids? It’s an easy answer. Them or my golf clubs.

TTOTD: Who is your celebrity crush?

RM: I don’t have one of those. I have a wife and kids so I wouldn’t get away with it!

TTOTD: Which three people, past or present would you invite to a dinner party?

RM: Ayrton Senna, Richard Hill and Billy Connolly.

ashley jacksonTTOTD: Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?

RM: Ashley Jackson. Without a doubt.

TTOTD: What is your hidden talent?

RM: [Thinks for a long time] I don’t think I have a hidden talent. That’s not good is it?!

TTOTD: If you were on a game show, and needed a phone-a-friend from someone in the hockey world, who would it be?

RM: Dan Fox. He’s a pretty intelligent guy.

Moore Riverbank ArenaTTOTD: Who would it not be?

RM: Ashley Jackson. Great player, though!

TTOTD: Why do you love hockey?

RM: It’s a skillful and fast game, which is great to watch. The people who play it are fantastic and it’s a game you can play up until any age.

So there you have it. A small insight into the thoughts of another of British hockey’s top talents.

The Top of the D would like to thank Rob Moore for his time and good humour in conducting these quickfire questions.

If there is a player you would like to see asked the quickfire questions, or if there is a question you would like me to ask, why not email me or tweet me and let me know?
