A view of the Olympics…

Well, we’re right into the thick of the Olympic hockey tournaments and there’s been plenty going on and plenty to talk about.

Whilst my work commitments on other sports prevent me from providing the level of coverage I’d like to, this is a hockey site and it would be odd for me, a hockey obsessive not to do something about the biggest tournament in world hockey.

With that in mind, here’s part one of a series of, well, as many as I can fit in, of things I’ve seen that I found interesting. Enjoy.

Rob and Romesh vs Hockey

You may or may not have seen that BAFTA-nominated “Rob & Romesh vs” returned to Sky One at the start of July.

Given the Olympics is almost here, there are a couple of episodes dedicated to comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett and their quest to find an Olympic sport they can turn their hand to.

In their infinite wisdom, they decide that playing in goal at hockey looks pretty straightforward. The reality, is quite different.

Great Britain make it two wins in two days against Germany.

Great Britain made it two wins in two days against Germany as they ran out 3-1 winners in their FIH Pro League match at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. 

Having won 5-3 in yesterday’s match, today’s game was a slightly less explosive encounter but the points went to the hosts once more to move them up the Pro League table to sixth.
