England set up a mouth-watering tie with Argentina in Saturday’s semi final as they held off a late charge from underdogs Italy to win 3-2. China coasted through to a semi final meeting with Australia with a 3-0 win over a plucky Spanish side. Goals from Meiyu Liang, Mengyu Wang and Hongxia Li, her fifth of the tournament were enough to secure the win in a cagey encounter. Continue reading

Australia booked their place in the semi final with a convincing 4-1 win over the USA here in London.
First half goals from Emily Smith, Kellie White, Karri McMahon and Jodie Schulz overpowered the Stars and Stripes and ensured Australia had a comfortable second half, allowing them to keep something in the tank for Saturday’s clash with Spain or China. Continue reading

Argentina moved ominously into the semi-final of the Investec World League with a solid display to see off South Africa in the first game of the day here in London.
