Reading bounced back from the disappointment of yesterday’s semi-final defeat to Surbiton with a dominant display to hammer Clifton 6-0 to seal third place in the playoffs. A hat-trick from Becky Halle, two from Alex Danson and another from Jess Brooker did the damage as Clifton simply could not live with their opponents.

Investec Women’s Promotion Playoffs: Buckingham 2-0 Sutton Coldfield.
Two goals from Buckingham captain Zoe Shipperley ensured the West Conference side finally take their place in the top flight at the fifth time of trying.
Having qualified for playoffs the last four seasons before this one and having missed out, it was starting to look like it might never happen for Buckingham, especially after their crushing defeat by Holcombe yesterday. However, a splendid defensive display and a brace from their inspirational skipper were enough to get them over the line, condemning Sutton Coldfield to relegation- the first premier league side to suffer that fate via the playoffs. Investec Women’s Promotion Playoffs: Holcombe 8-2 Brooklands Poynton.
Holcombe secured a deserved place in next season’s Premier League with a brutal display of finishing blitzing Brooklands Poynton by 8-2 in their final game of this playoff competition. Holcombe went into the game needing only a draw to go up but there was never any doubt of them pushing for anything other than a win as Megan Frazer helped herself to a hat-trick adding to goals from Shelley Russell (2), Nikki Daly, Lucy Wood and Steph Elliott. Investec Women’s Championship Playoffs Semi Final: Canterbury 2-0 Clifton.
Goals from Eliza Brett and Anna Baker were enough to give Canterbury a 2-0 win over Clifton to take their place in the Investec Women’s Championship Playoff Final tomorrow. Brett struck in the eighth minute whilst Baker, as she did in the league meeting between the two sides, sealed the win with the second in the 43rd minute. Continue reading
