Investec Women’s Hockey League Championship Playoff Final: Reading 1-1 Leicester (2-0 aps.)

Goalkeeper Sarah Ellis was the star of the show with four saves in the penalty shootout as Reading avenged their defeat to Leicester in last year’s final to take home the trophy here at Sonning Lane.

Investec Women’s Hockey League Championship Playoffs 3rd/4th place: Canterbury 3-2 Surbiton.

Two goals from Jade Mayne and the winner from Sarah Kerly ensured Canterbury bounced back from yesterday’s defeat to secure third place with a hard-earned 3-2 win over Surbiton.

Now: Pensions Championship Playoff 3rd/4th Place: Canterbury 0-4 Reading.

Reading snatched England’s final qualification place for next year’s Euro Hockey League after a comfortable 4-0 win over Canterbury, gave the Sonning Lane side third place in the Now: Pensions England Hockey League.

Now: Pensions Promotion Playoffs: Wimbledon 2-1 Sheffield Hallam.

Wimbledon bounced back from yesterday’s defeat to Southgate to secure their place in the Premier Division next season where, despite this defeat they will be joined by Sheffield Hallam.

A brace from James Gall set up a final with Beeston on Sunday as Surbiton swept aside a stubborn Canterbury team in the pouring rain at Sonning Lane.

Now: Pensions, Championship Semi-Final: Reading 2-2 Beeston (3-4 APS.)

Beeston goalkeeper George Pinner was his team’s hero as he saved four shuffles in the penalty shootout, crucially keeping Simon Mantell out in sudden death to steer the Bees through to Sunday’s final.
